The Giving Hope Project

Help Bring Hope to Those in Need

Lets Work Together to Help Our Neighbors

God calls us out to bring hope to a hurting world. You are invited to be a part of sharing that hope in a very tangible way. Faith is participating in the 2026 Giving Hope Project event scheduled for Saturday, March 21 and here is how you can be a part of it!

Donate

Our Faith community is partnering with Sharing Connections to help individuals and families who need basic supplies and furnishings.  Veterans, Homeless transitioning to housing, Abuse/Domestic Violence victims and others in need.   If you have gently used furniture, can donate supplies, or would like to help financially,  please consider giving. Donation bags are available at the church along with a list of items needed.

If you need a tax exempt form please reach out to jgrimm@sharingconnections.org.

Here are some suggestions for giving: Furniture, Clothing, Cleaning Supplies, Personal Care, Baby Items, Kitchen/Bath Items.
Items need to be dropped off at the church by Sunday, March 15.  If you have large items like furniture please click the link below to arrange your donation. Late donations or large items can be dropped off the morning of Saturday, March 21 between 8:00-10:30 AM.

Volunteer

We need volunteers to help deliver our donated items to the FMSC warehouse in Downers Grove on Saturday, March 21.  We also need volunteers to help pick up large items from people's homes.  If you can help, please use the link below to signup.

About Sharing Connections!

Sharing Connections brings together community members by enabling families and businesses to share their gently used furniture, household items and clothing with families needing assistance. This is a unique opportunity for the community to directly make an impact by passing on something they no longer need to make a difference in the life of a family.

Sharing Connections’ staff works closely with referring partner organizations such as domestic violence shelters, housing organizations, food pantries, schools, veteran, and teen parent organizations who refer their clients (our guests) to SC after they have determined the need for beds, cribs, furniture and other household items. Fitting with the vision of SC, distribution of cribs and beds for children is a major focus of our programming.

The families served by Sharing Connections includes the previously homeless, unemployed and working poor, veterans, victims of domestic violence, immigrants, individuals with mental or physical disabilities, victims of fire, flood and natural disasters, etc. They
have housing, but are faced with the harsh reality that their “home” is empty or severely under-furnished – without cribs and beds for the children, a table, chairs and dishes to share meals, or even a sofa to sit on and relax. Our guests have an average salary of approximately $15,000 a year for a family of four. After basic expenses such as rent, utilities, food and clothing are paid, there’s little if anything left for the common household furnishings most take for granted. These individuals and families must overcome many obstacles on their way to self-sufficiency.Since our founding, our services have grown to not only include professional referral services from partner agencies for furniture and clothing - but have expanded with our annual toy program, back to school supply program, and in 2019 launched our very own in-house option to work directly with families when an emergency or time sensitive situation requires immediate help. Together, We Furnish Hope.
