Save the date and get ready to get your serve on at Faith's 14th annual Compassion
Weekend. We'll be rolling up our sleeves and heading out to partner with organizations and
projects that make a real impact on the lives of people in our community. As part of our
serving weekend, we want to extend care and love to those in need in our very own
neighborhoods. If you, or someone you know, is in need of any help with projects/tasks
around their home you are encouraged to

cutting lawns, to painting, to yard work, our Compassion Weekend Team would like to help
our neighbors on that weekend.

Aurora Packing Center

Mission and Values:
Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God's children hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: children and adults hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children, and we ship the meals to nearly 70 countries around the world.
Serving Opportunity:
Packing nutritious meals for hungry children at the Aurora packing center.

Mutual Ground Inc. was founded in 1975, providing services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and their families. Mutual Ground is one of the largest and oldest domestic violence shelters in the state. All services are victim-centered and focus on advocacy that empowers each individual to make her/his own decisions. All services are offered free of charge.
Serving Opportunity:
We will be switching out the summer clothes for the fall and winter clothes in the clothing rooms upstairs.  Taking clothes off hangers and folding clothes and putting them in tubs.

Sharing Connections

Serving Opportunity:
We are looking for happy and engergetic individuals interested in assisting us in sorting donations
(like clothing and housewares), assisting donors at our drop off door,
working direct with clients to select needed furniture, assisting in cleaning
and vacuuming furniture and drivers/helpers on our volunteer run truck.

Lunch and Thank you Notes for Fire Station #8

We are so thankful to the firefighters in our community that serve us, that we are going to serve them, with  lunch from Firehouse subs and  thank you notes.
Serving Opportunity:
We are looking for people to write thank you notes and financially donate to lunch, there are 16 firefighters we are feeding.  You can donate here online or in the Cafe, there will be a box for gift cards and thank you cards.

A.D.O.P.T. Pet Shelter

Mission and Values:
A.D.O.P.T. was founded in 1989 by a group of dedicated volunteers determined to find homes for animals in need. Over the years, our objective has remained the same: to place animals into permanent, caring homes and advance the humane treatment of animals through education.
Serving Opportunity:
Help provide support to staff at the shelter including cleaning and organization.

Radical Love

Faith Lutheran Church

Mission and Values:
Radical Love is a community of helpers, with a mission to come together to reflect the radical love of Jesus,
by loving and helping one another. This is done through their work with refugee families, senior citizens,
and children and families in our surrounding community in need of support and connection.
The organization is centered around families serving with each other alongside our neighbors,
 supporting each other in reciprocal relationships, and learning and growing together.
Serving Opportunity:
We are hosting a Packing Party onsite here at the church!  All ages are welcome to come together and prepare bags of hats, gloves, supplies, and write notes of encouragement for our refugee neighbors, while also learning more about who our refugee neighbors are. It’s going to be a time of celebration and putting our faith into action.
