Saturday, November 12, 2011, the students of Faith hit the road and headed to S. Canal Street in Chicago, and spent the afternoon and evening at Pacific Garden Mission. The mission is the largest in the city, serving both men and women. After touring the shelter, and being educated on the outreach and care that the mission provides, the students got a chance to be a part of another type of ministry, a radio ministry, by watching and listening live to a taping of “UnShackled”, a radio serial that’s been on air since the 1950’s. Following the radio show, the students ate dinner with the members of the mission and then attended the evening church service, where praises were sung with verve and life-changing testimonies were shared. It was an amazing experience!
