How do we reconcile the difference between what we say we believe and the way in which we live? If we say we are a Christian, shouldn’t all of our lives reflect our belief in a personal, loving and all-powerful God? Join us for our series called “Christian Atheist” based on Craig Groeshel’s book. The series will run from February 26th through March 25th.

2.26.12 Part One: “I believe in God…but”
Scripture: Galatians 3: 26 – 4:7

Summary: How do we reconcile the difference between what we say we believe and the way in which we live? If we say we are a Christian, shouldn’t all of our lives reflect our belief in a personal, loving and all-powerful God?

3.4.12 Part Two: “I believe in God, but I Don’t Talk About Him”
Scripture: Acts 8: 4-8

Summary: If we believe in God but don’t talk about it with others then there is a lack of continuity in our lives. Our beliefs should be reflected in our actions, speech, and entire lives. How should our view of evangelism be different if we believe in a powerful and loving God?

3.11.12 Part Three: “I believe in God but… I still worry a lot”
Scripture: Psalm 4

Summary: Our worries contradict our stated

You won’t want to miss worship on January 22nd as we will be getting an up-close and personal look into Caboule the Haitian community that received a water system from Faith’s successful Walk for Water last September. I will be visiting the community and sharing the story of those whose lives have been touched by your generosity. Lauren Jernigan from Water Missions International will be our weekend speaker. Don’t miss this opportunity to see how lives have been changed and how you can be a part of that change.

Beginning Thursday, January 19th, 2011 at 7:00 pm, Faith will be hosting a new women’s small group. In this compilation of the five books in the best-selling Lineage of Grace series by Francine Rivers, we meet the five women whom God chose — Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba, and Mary. Each was faced with extraordinary — even scandalous — challenges. Each took great personal risk to fulfill her calling. Each was destined to play a key role in the lineage of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the World. Sign up here to join this small group. Group resources are available in the connections bookstore. For more details, contact Steph Wallert, group leader, at office@discoveringfaith.com.

In a few days clean water will be flowing in a Haitian community called Caboule. As a result of Faith’s Walk for Water a clean water system is being installed in a part of the world that has experienced tremendous upheaval as a result of a massive earthquake and the subsequent challenges of disease, despair, and rebuilding.

In 2010, Water Missions International identified Caboule as a community in desperateneed of safe water.

Caboule Mayor Charles Jean Meces says, “Caboule is a village in High Tapio commune and has been also affected by cholera. The only water source is a well with a hand pump and people from five villages come to this place for their water. I would ask to help us have treated water to stop cholera.”

The Mayor’s daughter, Miss Sarah, says, “every day I carry water to my house from 3:00 am to 5:00 pm for our needs. Some days I have much pain in my back and neck from the heavy water buckets. Many people walk for several kilometers to get water from this well. Some come with donkeys to carry their water buckets. Some other people walk for two hours to get water from this place.”

Miss Sarah explained that many women suffer from feminine infections from bathing in this bad water and children often have diarrhea. She also mentioned that cholera is very present in this village.

Miss Sarah says, “If we get this treated water it will be the greatest gift from God for us because a young girl with donkeys carrying water we have been asking for help for a long time.”

In Haiti, 51% of the annual deaths are due to water-born diseases and lack of proper sanitation. When the system is completed it will provide safe water for more than 3,000 people per day.

The Word became flesh and dwelt among us full of grace and truth. The startling message of Christmas is that God has not abandoned this world but has chosen to make it His home and to restore it. His love for all is apparent. He invites us to love the same way.

Clean water for Christmas. The perfect gift. The gift that makes God’s heart race.

Peace & Joy
~Pastor Rob
